In a move to improve the standard of service in commercial accommodation facilities in the country, Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has organized training for waiters/waitresses and cooks already working at such facilities. The first training is for facilities in Kampala Capital City and takes place tomorrow, 15 December 2016 at Hotel Africana.
The objective is to improve the skills and enhance competencies of hospitality workers. Over the past 6 months, UTB has hosted domestic and foreign media and tour operators on tourism familiarisation trips. One concern that has come through is the low quality of service in the hospitality industry. This training is therefore one step in the right direction in addressing that concern.
The training will be conducted at Hotel Africana over a two day period:
- 15th December – waiters/waitresses
- 16th December – cooks.
